Show St. George CCC Camp The fall schedule of morning classes has started off with members mem-bers of the main camp taking an active interest. Eight subjects: concrete construction, conservation, conserva-tion, current events, arithmetic, bookkeeping, penmanship, spelling and shorthand are being taught. The groups meet for two one-half hour periods each week before going out to work. Guest Day for August will be held next Sunday. Bill Shepherd, mess steward, and his crew of cooks are making special preparations prepara-tions and hope that a large number num-ber of the enrollees will be accompanied ac-companied by their lady friends. The construction crew at Las Vegas reports that the pipe has been put down in the camp area and the buildings will start to go up during the week. Construction work on the new addition to the shower house has been completed and the barber shop and laundry will be moved in as soon as the painting is finished. Foreman Parker and a small crew of boys are moving tents, floors and other spike camp equipment from the Pipe Springs camp preparatory to setting up a new camp for about 25 men at Black Rock Springs. Post cutting will be the main job on this location. E. W. Samuell, division of grazing graz-ing inspector, spent the past week in camp looking over projects and proposed camp sites. The new educational building is nearing completion and we hope to get moved into the reading room and library during the present week. CCC Company 2558 will sponsor a dance on Friday, August 19. The Elementary school gymnaisum has been secured for the event and dancing will hold forth from 9 until 12 p.m. Every citizen of St. George and surrounding communities communi-ties is cordially invited. Come out and help the camp celebrate. |
