Show Boys Club Formed Here, Has As Purpose Building of Character Lawrence O. Marsh, who has been active as a children's worker in various sections of California, New Mexico, and Utah and now a resident of St. George, organized his first boy's club here on Thursday, Thurs-day, June 17. The purpose of the club will be for the betterment of the boys character-building, he announced. an-nounced. The club is called the "Perseverance "Persever-ance Action club". Officers elected tat the first meeting are as follows fol-lows : Dean Webb, president; Dick Miles, vice-president ;" Dick Schmutz, secretary and treasurer; and Paul Thompson, reporter. There were ten members present at the meeting. The club will foster recreation, dramatic and other similar projects proj-ects that it is expected will interest inter-est boys. Any boys between the ages of ten and fourteen who are not now members but are interested inter-ested in learning more about it, are invited to visit the club at its next weekly meeting on Fri iay, June 25 at 7:30 p. m., at Mr. Marsh's residence in the Jane Moss home one block north of t h e Temple. |
