Show Short Creek, Ariz. Mrs. I. w. Carling Reporter Mrs. Rosenburg of Cedar City o has been visiting with her daughter. Mrs. LaVern Pointer Warren Black made a trip to Cedar City Tuesday. P Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Johnson weie visitors here Monday Mr. and Mrs.'. W. E. Johnson ot Hurricane were here visiting their children over the week end A party was held at the school house on Friday night honoring school teacher Mrs. Elizabeth Lauritzen, who has taught in Short Creek four years. After the program refreshments were served. serv-ed. The mothers of the community com-munity presented Mrs. Lauritzen with a small present. Mrs. Melvin Johnson and children, chil-dren, who have heen in California Califor-nia for the past two months, returned re-turned yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Finicum went to Kanab Sunday. Miss Naomi Carling had her tonsils removed Monday at Hurricane Hur-ricane by Dr. Mclntire. The people of Short Creek want to congratulate the county commissioners com-missioners and workers of Washington Wash-ington county for the splendid road work they did between Hurricane Hur-ricane and the Utah-Arizona state line. The need for this road has been felt for a long time and the cattlemen as well as the Fore-master Fore-master Bros, wish to voice their appreciation for it as they travel to and from St. George often. It is hoped the Arizona commissioners commis-sioners will realize the necessity of building a road to meet the the Utah road at the state line. |
