Show FRANK G. MARTINES When Frank G. Martines of Richfield, stepped out of the presidency of the Southern Utah Civic clubs association, associ-ation, at the meeting held here Tuesday, he left behind him an outstanding record of achievement. Mr. Martines held the position of president of this fast-moving organization organ-ization for four terms as the first president and for the past three years. That a great deal was accomplished during his reign was seen in the annual report given at the local meeting. To those who have followed the working of the group it was not necessary to hear this report, but to even its closest friends, there must have been a surprise in store when its accomplishements were listed. As President, Mr. Martines was not only loyal to the interests of Southern Utah, but he was abreast of the times, in close contact with the rest of the state and neighboring states and in harmony with the great spirit of progress which is now permeating this section. Active, willing, energetic, alert and capable of getting the full support and cooperation from the men who worked with him, Mr. Martines was able to direct the clubs until the organization is now copied by other groups and held up as a shining example of what cooperation can do in promoting pro-moting the best interests of this section of the state. |
