Show HURRICANE MJiS. KATHARINE LARSON Reporter The official opening of the new high school building on Friday Fri-day evening drew many former teachers, friends, and patrons of the school. Those attending from Parowan were: Mr. and Mrs. Glenn E. Snow, Mr. and Mrs. I Oi man Weight and Mr. and Mrs. Noble Kimball. Those of the county school board were Supt. and Mrs. Milton E. Moody, Pres. and Mrs. Leo A. Snow, also Editor Edi-tor and Mrs. Edgar R. Simpson. Patrons from neighboring towns turned out to a man. The Senior class at the Hurricane' Hurri-cane' high school will give their annual dance on Friday night. A turkey is to be given to the winner. The Hurricane chapter of the Alice Louise Reynolds club held an open session on Firday, November No-vember 6. Lunch was served to twenty-four members. The afternoon after-noon was spent in card playing. Mrs. Finley Judd won high score. Those attending in charge of the entertainment were Mrs. Edith C. Bennett, Mrs. Grace S. Staheli, Mrs. Lena I. Gates, Mrs. Audrey A. Stevens and Mrs. Irma H. Stevens. The afternoon wsa spent at Mrs. Flora W. Tweedie's home. New members to the club are, Mrs. Owen Bergener, Mrs. Josephine Jose-phine C. Inglestead, Mrs. Vonita S. Wright and Mrs. Katharine M. Larson. Men from the state planning board were in town today in the interest of the Hurricane high line project. Cement is being poured for the foundation of the North ward chapel and stake building. Three days of this week have been set apart as stake days. Every available avail-able man is asked to come and donate his time on the building. Mrs. A. K. Larson entertained the Wednesday night card club at her home last week. Twelve members mem-bers were present. High score went to Mrs. Grace S. Staheli and consolation to Mrs. Annabelle Mclntire. |
