Show Large Crowd Attends Washington ; ! Bridge Celebration On Monday Night ;i ! Speakers Declare Bridge Is Monument To ! People of This Section ! WASHINGTON, Utah A large 'I and appreciative crowd attended i jj,e bridge celebration held Mon-'! Mon-'! day night at the site of the re-centiy re-centiy completed Virgin river bridge located south of this com-rjeet com-rjeet munity. Those taking part on the pro- gram included Commissioners N. f I R. Frei, Finley Judd and George I H. Lytle; Darrow Greenwell, fl W.P.A. state director; Edward j Thompson, regional engineer; Al-jU Al-jU bert Anderson, who was in charge of the construction; State Road 0 Commissioner W. D. Hammond; County Engineer Leo Snow and jre Housecroft, chief bridge engineer Musical numbers were presented ni by Mrs. Paxman, Miss Mildred Isom; the ' St. George trio, Mrs. tpf, Earl Cannon, Miss Mary Lou Wells and Mrs. William Baker; J vocal solo, Miss Roma Isom; vocal solo, Miss Rhoda Andrus and a reading by Deliah Tobler. The dedication program was tinder the direction of Golden Paxman, committee chairman, with Mayor Victor Iverson presenting pre-senting the address of welcome. Following the program, at which Jsoft drinks and sandwiches were served, a free dance was given in Washington. |
