Show Plans Announced For Bridge Below Vinsor Dam Indian Service To Assist With Work By Furnishing Equipment Announcement of the plans to build a bridge just below the Winsor Dam over the Santa Clara River were made this week by the Washington County commissioners. com-missioners. The construction is made possible through the cooperation co-operation of the Indian Service. The bridge will be 50 feet wide and have a 14 foot clearance. Rock Ruble masonry will support the bridge span which will be a two-way bridge for 1 small vehicles. Plans for the bridge were drawn by the Indian Service engineering department. The department de-partment will also furnish a Cat' and bull dozer, dump truck and compressor. In return for this assistance the commissioners by-special by-special permission, will increase the force permitted on the work to nine people and will employ some of the Indians. This will be a W.P.A. project. Part of this equipment will also be made available for use on the Jackson, Gunlock and Kolob roads, thus materially aiding the county in its road construction program. "We have more equipment working work-ing on our county roads and are accomplishing more than at any time in the history of the county", declared Newell R. Frei, chairman of the county commissioners, in speaking of the road construction in the county. |
