Show SANTA CLARA Santa Clara, Nov. 4. Our towns people were all very much grieved today to-day over a sad accident that happened happen-ed to Frederick Reber, an aged resit-ent. resit-ent. He was 90 years old and was hale and hearty previous to the accident. acci-dent. He was helping to tie up a jersey bull that had broken out of the corral. He had the animal tied and as he turned to leave, the enraged animal crashed his head through the fence that protected the old man, and struck him on the leg, breaking it badly above the knee. Dr. McGregor was immediately summoned and he set the bone and eased the pain al' he could. The many friends of the dear old gentleman hope that he may recover. He has been very useful, even in his old age he has busied himself mending shoes. Last Saturday night Karl Fordham and his orchestra from Bunkerville were here and gave a dance. The hall was very crowded there being a large turnout of our townspeople, also a large number from outside towns were present. An enjoyable time was had. Rex Frei, who was operated on for ruptured appendix at Salt Lake City some time ago, returned home last week. He has got along excellently excel-lently and his many friends are glad to see him come home well again. uct. ii), the school gave a Hallowe'en Hal-lowe'en dance. A large crowd was out and all had a nice time. Oct. 29, a daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. John Hafen, all concerned con-cerned doing well. Samuel Reber of Mesquite was here on business and also visiting with relatives. The walls of Charles Hafen's new home are now almost to the square. |
