Show AN ORDINANCE AN' ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS SEC-TIONS 104. 205. 210, 211 and 217A OF CHAPTER XXII OF THE REVISED ORD1XAXCES OF THE CITY OF ST. GEORGE OF 1915, AS AMEXDED SIXCE SAID DATE. RELAT1XG TO ST. GEORGE CITY WATER WORKS. Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of St. George, Utah. Sections 194, ' 205. 210, 211 and 217A are hereby amended to read as follows : Sec. 194: Application for water: Fee: Whenever any property owner own-er or tenant desires to obtain a supply of water from the City Water Works, he shall make application therefore in writing to the Superintendent, and sign an agreement tljat he will be governed by such rules and regulations, regula-tions, not inconsistent with this chapter, as may be prescribed by the City Council for the control of the water supply; said application must state the location, kind of building, number of taps, and the entire area of ground to be supplied, and truly and fully state the purpose for which the water is to be used. Such application appli-cation having been filed, and payment pay-ment of Twenty Dollars made to the City Treasurer, the Superintendent is authorized to extend the main or service ser-vice pipe to the inside line of the curb stone at the point opposite the main most convenient for supplying the premises of the applicant; to each service pipe there shall be at the curb stone, a stop cock and key box which shall be under the executive control of the Superintendent. In case an application for furnishing furnish-ing water shall be made by a tenant of the owner of any property within the Water System Districts of this City the application shall contain an agreement signed by the owner thereof there-of or his duly authorized agent to the effect that in consideration of the granting of such tenent or any other granting of such application the said owner will pay for all water furnished furnish-ed such tenant or any other occupant of the place named in the application, in case such tenant or occupant fails to pay for the same according to the ordinance rules and regulation of the City. Provided further that no new water wat-er user shall be allowed to take water except through a meter. Sec. 20 5: Access to places supplied. sup-plied. Penalty for violation: Free access shall at all ordinary hours be allowed to the Superintendent of Water Works, or other authorized persons, to all places supplied with water from the Water Works System, to examine the apparatus, the amount of water used, the manner of its use, and to make all necessary shut-offs for vacancy, delinquency, and violations viola-tions of this ordinance. Any water taker violating any of the rules and regulations controlling the water supply shall forfeit all payments pay-ments made and the right to the use of the water. Whenever the water is shut off from any taker of user of water for violation of the rules and regulations thereof, a fee of Eighteen Dollars shall be paid by such user or taker to the City before the water is again turned on for the use of such taker or user.. Sec. 210: Water rates: The rales for the supply of water from the City water works, to be paid semi-annually in advance, are hereby fixed and established as follows, to-wit: to-wit: Bakery $S.00; barbershop or dental dent-al parlor $S,00, each additional chair $2.00; boiler for heating purposes only, in private residences a minimum mini-mum of $3.00, all others a minimum of $S.OO each, but such boilers shall be rated as per water consumed; baths, public, first tub or shower $5.00, each additional tub or shower $3.00; baths in private houses each $3.00; each additional tub or shower $2.00; butcher shop $8.00; dance hall $S.00; drug store $S.00; engines, engin-es, stationary and steam boilers, except ex-cept boilers for heating purposes only, used not to exceed 12 hours out of every 24, per horse power $2.00; engine or steam boiler when used constantly, per horse power $3.00; minimum charge for engines, steani boilers except boilers for heating purposes pur-poses only $10.00; hose connections for garage for washing cars, minim-, urn charge $10.00; hotel or boarding house, five to ten rooms, single tap $12.00; over ten rooms, $15.00, each additional tap $1.00; house or private priv-ate residence where the tap is located locat-ed in the main building $4.00 per tap, each additional tap 75 cents, each additional appartment $4.0o! house or private residence where the tap is outside main building $5.00 per tap, each additional tap $1.00, each additional apartment $5.00; each bath tub in hotel or boarding house S5.00; one water closet public building $6.00, each additional pub-liccloset pub-liccloset $'3.00; water closet in private priv-ate residence each $3.00; lavatory $2.00, each urinal $3.u0; each laun-o |
