Show CLOSING WEEK AT HE Oil COLLEGE This is a very busy week at the Dixie Dix-ie college. Yesterday was Honor day. Theie was a large number on the roll and the program was exceptionally good. A feature of it was the awarding award-ing of honors to two boy scouts. Bliss Jar.': and Carlyle Thompson, students stud-ents of the college who are the first scouts in Zion Park Council to attain eagle rank. Piano Recital The Dixie college music department gave a remarkably fine piano recital in the tabernacle Monday night under direction of Miss Evelyn Thurston. Those taking part were Arlene Riding. Rid-ing. Clesta Worthen, Miriam Thurston. Thurs-ton. Lenore Thurston, Gertrude McGregor, Mc-Gregor, Olive Hafen, La Verna Webb, Vinnie Tobler, Thora Ford, Mrs. Nem-ie Nem-ie Pearce, Rose Seegmiller, Shirl Woodbury, Vivian Leavitt, Mrs. Pitch-forth, Pitch-forth, Zelda Nelson, Ezoe Woodbury and Blanche Nelson. Woodwork ami Art Exhibit The exhibits of the woodwork and domestic art departments were open Sunday evening anri Monday, and attracted at-tracted crowdsof people. The ex-' ex-' hibits in both departments are larger and stronger than ever before, and, we think, the work is superior to any j previously shown. j Fourth Year Program j The fourth year program given last night was very interesting, those taking tak-ing part being Ferol McQuarrie, Erma Nelson, Effie Gardner, Ezoe Woodbury Wood-bury and Elvis Terry. The address to the graduates was made by Pres Thos. P. Cottam. The presentation vtt? by Wendell Robinson and re-, spouse by W. O. Bentley. Onening prayer was by Ruby Bryner, closing by Pies. Edgai M. Jenson. The commencement exercises will be held Friday night, and the alumni banquet will be given on Saturday night. .. |
