Show HURRICANE HURRICANE, October 30. Winter has come in earnest now. For the past five days we have had frost and a cold north wind has been blowing. The Hurricane school faculty helped help-ed themselves to Wm. E. Woodbury's store of casabas yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Workman who have been residing in Salt Lake City the past year, arrived here last week to visit relatives. They returned to their home Tuesday. Karl Larson is ill at his home here. Carl Workman and Chauncey Sandberg are taking care of his school work. Mrs. Chauncey Sandberg is in Logan Lo-gan attending the home beautification school. Miss Cleo Brooks of Long Beach, Calif., is here visiting her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. LeBaron. Born (A son to Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Clar-ence Mangun October 23. Mother and baby are doing well. Afton Humphries was taken to Cedar Ce-dar City last week suffering with an attack of appendicitis. He was operated operat-ed on the. next morning. The Relief Societies of the two wards held their annual conference last Sunday. Sun-day. The programs were very interesting. inter-esting. -- A dance was given Friday to help raise funds to purchase a piano for the North ward. Tonight the West ward of St. George is presenting "The Cat and the Canary". Ca-nary". The proceeds are to go to the North ward piano fund. Committees have been canvassing the town selling sell-ing tickets. |
