Show Seventeen 4-H Clubs to Hold Exhibits in Science Building Seventeen 4-H clubs from Washington county will exhibit their foods, clothing, canning, and forestry in the dining room of the Science Building at St. George, Friday, September 13, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. The members, leaders, and general public are invited to visit the exhibit rooms and ask questions pertaining to the 4-H work. At 5:00 p.m., a style revue, showing the articles made by the 4-H Home Science members, will be held and one girl chosen to represent Washington county at the State Fair in Salt Lake City. The girl who wins first place in Salt Lake will be given a free trip to the international livestock live-stock exposition and National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago during the early part of December. Each girl who participates in the county coun-ty revue will be awarded a certificate cer-tificate of honor and the winner will be- presented with a gold medal. The score card used In making this decision provides thirty-five points for general appearance, ap-pearance, twenty points for suitability suit-ability of costume to individual, fifteen points for suitability to purpose, twenty points for economic eco-nomic factors, and ten points for ethics of the costume. Undergarments Under-garments as well as oute-rgac-ments will be considered. The 4-H display will cOMRlst of the first place articles ohosen according to standard score cards and through a process of elimination elimin-ation in Hurricane, Sprinsdalo, Veyo, Gunlock, Ivius, Washington, Washing-ton, and St. Georg . Each exhibit win he carefully examined on Friday morning, attention at-tention being given to practicability, practica-bility, cost, durability, and technique. tech-nique. The one receiving a greater great-er number of creditable points will be mailed to the 4-H club building at the State Fair In Salt Lake City, where It will represent Washington county and be compared with exhibits from twenty-three other counties or the state. Ribbons will be awarded award-ed in each year of every project according to merit and, If several sev-eral groups are equal In Quality, Qual-ity, ribbons will be given to each deserving display. ' During Friday afternoon, the best three Home Economics record re-cord books from Washington I county will be chosen. They I will bev sent to the State Fair I to compete with record work ' from other counties in the state land will 'be scored for completeness, complete-ness, accuracy, neatness, practicability practi-cability of work done, and home 'and community service. First place canning exhibit will be announced and a dlflplay selected for the State Fair. Th T'other T'-other outstanding canning exhibits exhib-its will be chosen and the contributors con-tributors will be awarded a total to-tal of six dozen jars. From the outstanding record' of 1935 and the past yearn of 4-H club work eight girls wl'i be chosen and asked to write a detailed account of all their 4-H activities. These reports will he mailed to a state committee and the one receiving first place will receive a beautiful gold medal as outstanding 4-H girl In Washington Wash-ington county. Eight other girls who have had three years Oi food work will compete with past records and stories for a gold county medal and a state trip to Chicago as outstanding food preparation member. Due to limited transportation facilities, fa-cilities, no extra boy or girl will be taken for the health contest. In asmuch as health is an important impor-tant factor in the style revue and demonstration, one of the delegates will be chosen from each county to enter the state health contest in Salt Lake City. As soon as all 4-H club records re-cords reach the county office a club charter . will be awarded to those having 100 per cent completion com-pletion of their members during 1935.
