Show VIRGIN VIRGIN, Feb. 4. The farmers are rejoicing over the nice rains we have , had lately. 1 Mr. and Mrs. Dean Wilson and family fam-ily and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Wilson have moved to St. George. Leon and Dean are drillers for the Arrowhead Petroleum Corporation and expect to start drilling near St. George soon. Charles D. Alsop of St. George was a business visitor here last week. Sam Wilson came in from Provo last week where he has spent the past four months. Mrs. Sarah Riding has been quite ill the past week. The play, "Cyclone Sally," was staged stag-ed here last Saturday night by the Gleaner girls of Toquerville. It was very much enjoyed by those who attended. at-tended. Willis E. Dalton left last Saturday for Ogden on business. Carl Workman, Nellie McArthur and Maurine Whipple spent the week end at their homes in St. George. Born A son to Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Turner, February 3. Mother and baby doing fine. Mrs. William Brinkerhoff, who was operated on in the county hospital, is getting along nicely and will be home within a few days. Mrs. Lydia Lee left last Tuesday for Sparks, Nevada, on receiving a telegram that her daughter, Mrs. Gladys Wood, was very ill. Elisha Lee has been quite ill the past week. The visit of Bishop Oliver Stratton and Arthur Cottam as missionaries was much enjoyed by the people here. Mr. and Mrs. Pete Chenovic were visiting in Cedar City last week. Mrs. M. G. McMullin of Los Angeles An-geles was here last Friday in the interest in-terest of the Zion Oil Refining Co. The new refinery which is being put up by C. E. Cline and Company, is nearly completed and will be in running run-ning order in the near future. Pipe is being laid from the Zion Oil Co's storage stor-age tanks to the plant. A. G. Burnham brought in his fourth well last Thursday. All reports are to the effect that it is a good shallow producer. |
