Show LINING UP RAGE HORSESFOR MEET Personal Letters Sent to Owners Own-ers Throughout Southern Utah and Nevada The race committee appointed by the chamber of commerce for the mid-winter carnival to be held in St. George December 26, 27 and 28, this ' week sent letters to race horse owners in southern Utah and Nevada, Ne-vada, asking that they enter then-horses then-horses in the meet. The letter reads as follows: ""A race meet is to be held at St. George December 26, 27, and 28, 1928, and we anticipate your being with us at that time and know that it will be as near an old time race race horse meet as any that has been pulled off in this state for several sev-eral years. "We do not intend to let any one man come in here with a string of fast horses and take all the prizes, but will give you a show to come in on the amount of prizes that are to be awarded. This is not a money making scheme, but we would like to see you remunerated for the amount of expense you would have to go to and will give you a show for it. "Our climatic conditions are ideal for a meet in mid-winter, and we know that you will never regret the visit. Answer it you expect to oe nere so we can arrange stable facilities as the placing of horses will have to be done within the town as we cannot build stables this winter. Our track will be ideal with regulation turns, and is in excellent shape. "No one regrets a good time. We are sure we can show you one at this meet. |
