Show WASHINGTON PARTY TOVISIKALIFORNIA Will Investigate Cultvation, Irrigation, Irriga-tion, and Fertilization Methods County Agent Walter F. Smith and Manager Orval Hafen of the Dixie Cooperative Produce Association, Associ-ation, are sponsoring an excursion to California, believing that seeing is better than hearing, and that those who go will acquire new ideas and enthusiasm. It is planned to leave St. George on Saturday morning, January the 25th. in a truck loaded with 20 or 25 men. The party will go to Los Angeles and while in that vicinity will investigate the orchard heaters heat-ers used in the orange groves, and the cultivation, irrigation and fertilization fer-tilization methods used by the growers in Southern California. It is plr.nned also to pay a visit to the Rabbit Experiment Station maintained by the U. S. Department Depart-ment of Agriculture, at Fontana. Calif., and to the building of the Rabbit Marketing Association and the United Fur Company in Los Angeles. On the return trip., it is planned to go north from Los Angeles in the vicinity cf Fresno and Turlock so the party will have an opportunity opportun-ity to visit fruit, vegetable and i grape sections, as well as to inves- ! tieate the possibilities for pump- i trie water, as practiced in the vie- j in.ty of Turlock. I The party will be gone about a : week. In order to make the trip , as economically as pc:b'.e so more growers can go. the men will take their bedding and Errub boxes.
