Show GIRLS' ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION ADOPTS CONSTITUTION The Girls' Athletic Association of Dixie College held a meeting last week at which the constitution was read. A student to be eligible to organization must be free from incompletes in-completes and failures, keep regular regu-lar attendance, doing conscientious work during practice periods, and strictly adhere to the training rules as set out by the athletic association. as-sociation. Twelve hundred points a school year are required for a sweater, but during 1928 and 1929 the girls are all placed on the same footing foot-ing and may receive a sweater by gaining 800 points which will be given giv-en as follows: A member of the executive board, 50 points; captains of teams, 20 points, and managers 25 points. Perfect attendance at physical education ed-ucation class, 100 points a year; dancing, 50 points; stunts, 50 points; horseback riding, one point per hour; hiking, one point a mile. Member of class tennis team, 100 points; class championship, 75 points; school championship 25 points addi-tioaal. addi-tioaal. eGneral improvement In physical condition, 25 points; in posture, pos-ture, 10, 20 or 25 points. Credit also will be given for individual gymnastics. Twenty points a month will be given to those following these daily rules for the conservation of vitality: vi-tality: Nine hours sleep, three regular reg-ular meals, no tea nor coffee, two hours outdoor exercise, at least eight glasses of water and teeth brushed twice daily. Much interest is being taken in this work and it is believed it will be a great opportunity for the girls of the institution and also will bring the Dixie . College into wider fields of competition. |
