Show BRIGHTS DISEASE CAUSES DEATH OF EUGENE LEANY Eugene Mark Leany passed away at 2 o'clock Saturday morning from Bright's disease and kidney ailments, after an illness of five months. He was not confined to his bed at any time during that period and the two days preceding his death his condition seemed to show improvement. He was born September 29, 1910, at Harrisburg! and on September 1, 1920, moved with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Leany, to St. George where he has since made his home. He graduated from the Dixie high school here last spring and had planned to attend Dixie college this winter. Besides his parents he is survived sur-vived by one sister Mrs. Wilford C. Cox, and the following brothers, broth-ers, Hyrumj, Vivian, and Culbert of St. George, George of Hinckley, Francis of Cedar City, Wilford and Rodney of Hurricane. Funeral services were held Sunday Sun-day afternoon in the stake tabernacle taber-nacle under the direction of Vernon Ver-non Worthen of the West ward bishopric. There was an unusually large attendance, many from outside out-side points coming to St. George for the services. Musical numbers were as follows: fol-lows: Vocal duet, Mrs. Hettie Bentley and Miss Lucille Worthen; vocal solos, Job F. Hall, Karl E. Fordham and Miss Lucille Worthen; Wor-then; the West ward chorus rendered ren-dered "Sometime, Somewhere." The sneakers were Elders W. O. Bentleyj George W. Worthen, Joseph K. Nicholes and B. Glen Smith. They told of the life of Eugene, his earnestness in his school work, his Scout work and his faithfulness to his church duties, and sympathy was extended extend-ed to the family in their bereavement. bereave-ment. Prayers were offered by Elders James McArthur and Joseph T. Atkin Sr.f and the grave in the city cemetery was dedicated by Charles Woodbury of Hinckley. |
