Show DIXIE COLLEGE NOTES Last Friday morning Apostle Stephen Step-hen L. Richards and George D. Piper of Salt Lake City visited our Devotional Devotion-al exercises and gave the students some splendid talks. A program was given consisting of orchestra selections, readings read-ings by Ruth Ramsey, a piano solo by Blanche Nelson and a cornet solo by Earl J. Bleak. The winners of the tennis tournament tourna-ment of last year were called to the stand in Devotional Wednesday morning morn-ing and awarded boxes of chocolates. Many students have since stated their intentions of learning to play tennis. The winners were as follows: Men's singles, A. Paxman; mixed doubles, A. Paxman and Goldia Harris; consolation consola-tion singles, Calvert Andrus; consola-i consola-i tion doubles, Calvert Andrus and Evan ! Cottam; men's doubles, A. Paxman j and Loraine Cox. j Wednesday morning 35 minutes was given over to class meetings, that each ; class could plan for the Founders day activities. The Amitia girls reorganized Wednesday Wed-nesday morning and elected the following follow-ing officers for this school year: !Mariam Ahlstrom, president; Althea Snow, vice president: Daisy Leavitt. ' secretary and treasurer; Nina Nisson, reporter; Mrs. Juanita Pulsipher, matron. mat-ron. The amusement committee will j be appointed later. j Don't forget the big Masquerade Ball in the Gym tomorrow night. |
