Show MT. CARMEL ROAD TO BE BUILT AT OXCK Survey of the Zion National-Mt. Carmel road will be finished by New Year's day and construction plans will be rushed as rapidly as possible, according to B. J. Finch, district engineer en-gineer of the bureau of public roads. This project which is declared to be one of the boldest highway construction con-struction undertakings projected in the United States, is being surveyed from the park to the park border by the bureau of public roads. The state is carrying the survey from the border bor-der of the park to Mt. Carmel, and is expecting to have its survey completed complet-ed at about the same time. The bureau bu-reau will undertake the consruction for the park service on the road within with-in the park and the the balance. Mr. Finch is expected to make a trip to Zion within the next few days to decide definitely on the route and alignments which the road will follow fol-low up the Red Arch draw. The survey as carried to date has shown this project to be the biggest and boldest highway undertaking ever attempted in this country, Mr. Finch declared.
