Show ENTERPRISE ENTERPRISE, March 11. The past week has been parents' week. All were invited to visit the school. Thursday night Prof. E. J. Bleak and his orchestra or-chestra gave a free concert and dance. Friday morning at 9:30 the Dixie boys played basketball with the local high school team. Enterprise was the winner. At 10:30 there was a program in the ward hall. President Presi-dent Jos. K. Nicholes gave a talk on science. Miss Evelyn Thurston rendered ren-dered two piano solos, followed by two readings; Dil worth Snow sang three solos. After dinner they all returned home and that night a program and debate was given by the school. Howard How-ard Holt and Metta Crawford upheld the affirmative and Jane Alger and Leora Farnsworth negative. The question ques-tion was "Resolved that the Japanese Japa-nese Exclusion Act should be repealed.-" The negative won. A dance was given later in the ward hall. The children's note books, maps, journals, and sewing were on display all week. Superintendent W,. O. Bent-ley Bent-ley was a special visitor and spoke Thursday night. Much praise is due the teachers who made it possible for us to enjoy such an event. Mrs. Bushman and infant daughter have returned home. There is quite a lot of sickness in our town. A number of cases of pneumonia have proved serious but none fatal. We had an all day rain Sunday after which the weather turned very cold. Mrs. Ida Alger has returned from Caliente bringing her little granddaughter grand-daughter home with her. |
