Show ARROWHEAD PETRGLEUMGORPORATION COMPLETES ONE GFBESTRIGS INSTATE Actual Operations on Punch Bowl Await Only Arrival of Drilling Line; All Other Equipment in Place and Drillers Prepared ' to Start Work ; Rig Capable of Going to Depth of 6000 to 7000 Feet if Necessary to Reach Production SPUDDHNG in Punch Bowl well No. 1 by the Arrowhead Petroleum Corporation awaits only the arrival of a drilling line, which has delayed the starting of operations for a few days. The rig is completed and all equipment is on the ground. Dean and Leon Wilson, the two drillers employed by the Arrowhead, have been here the past few months assisting with the erection of the derrick, have brought in their families fam-ilies and are making their homes in St. George, prepared to remain here until the well is completed. These men are experienced drillers and since coming to this part of the country from California, have worked in the Virgin field for a number of years. The rig on the Punch Bowl is 84-foot 84-foot standard construction, was erected erect-ed at a cost of $12,000, and is one of the best in the state. It is capable cap-able of going to a depth of 6000 to 7000 feet if necessary. General Manager C. D. Alsop will be in charge of the work. The Arrowhead has large interests in this field, owning and controlling a total of 35,000 acres in the district, dis-trict, formerly United States naval oil reserve No. 7, and as soon as drilling drill-ing is under way on the Punch Bowl, another rig, which is completed, will be moved across the line in Arizona, where another well will be spudded in by the company in the Antelope district. This well was to have been spudded in the first of the year but weather conditions prevented the removal re-moval of the heavy machinery. The Arrowhead is very favorably located, lo-cated, the Punch Bowl dome being described as an almost perfect structure struc-ture and has been passed on by half a dozen or more well-known and capable geologists. The Arrowhead management expects ex-pects production will be reached at a depth of from 3200 to 3600 feet. |
