Show MAY 1 AND I DATEOFANNUAL SOPAROVAN Scouts of Washington, Kane, Iron and Beaver Counties and Western Part of Nevada Ne-vada Will Enter Events Tire annual s'oparovan of the foi-mer Zion National park council coun-cil of tire Boy Scouts of America, now a part of the Timpanogos council, will be held in Cedar City Friday and Saturday, May 1 and 2. Scouts from Beaver, Iron, Kane and Washington counties in Utah, and from the Virgin and Moapa valleys of Nevada will participate. partici-pate. ! Mass participation will be featured fea-tured this year. Hundreds of boys may be observed signaling, tying knots and cooking pan cakes, re-spectively, re-spectively, as these activities are announced. Competition, which has been featured in the past, will be reduced to a minimum. The boys will compete in only three events first aid, archery and wall scaling. Social activities are planned for Friday evening, May 1. The next morning there will be a big pa,-rade, pa,-rade, followed by a program hi the tabernacle. In the afternoon the mass and competitive events will take place, and in the evening a court of honor session will be held. Scout Executive A. A. Anderson will be present, and it is also expected ex-pected that Oscar Kirkham will be in attendance. The B. A. C. is in direct charge of the soparovan, with King Hendricks as general chairman. He will be assisted by B. Glen Smith, Grant B. Snow, I. Y. Bigelow, Henry Bowman, O. C. Bowman, John S. McAllister and L. C. Miles. |
