Show Tigers Spread Terror in Chinese Districts Reading like the pages from some highly spiced jungle tale are the complaints com-plaints made by villages to the north of the coastal city of Swatow. Ten Chinese have been eaten or badly mauled and one small girl knocked down and injured by man-eating tigers In the thickly populated districts dis-tricts of the province. Tigers have been attacking In the daytime as well as at night, and measures to cope with the menace are beiog considered. Among these Is a proposal that whole villages be organized to take up a trail. One tiger weighing 160 pounds was killed recently near Thongkhlang. Man-eating tigers have long been known to inhabit this area, but this Is the first time they have become so bold as to be a menace to hundreds of villages. j |
