Show CELEBRATE GOLDEN IBD1WEM Ir. and Mrs. E. C. Olson, Leeds Pioneers, Honored Last Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Olsen of Leeds celebrated the fiftieth anniversary anni-versary of their marriage on Thursday, Thurs-day, February 27, at Leeds. All of their children with their wives and husbands were at home for the day with the exception of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Olsen who reside at Provo and who were home for a visit a week previous. Included were Mr. and Mrs. Alex Colbath of Cedar City, Mr. and Mtrs. Will Sullivan of Hurricane, Mr. fcnd Mrs. Herbert Haight of Cedar City, Mr. and Mrs. George Olsen of Leeds, and Mtr. and Mrs. Milton E. Moody of St. George. During the afternoon about forty relatives and friends called on the couple, including Mr. and Mrs. John Schmutz, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. B. P. Wulfensten, Sr., and Mrs. Pauline Hemenway, relatives from St. George, all of the elderly people of Leeds, and friends from other nearby towns. Refreshments were served and an enjoyable time was spent in talking over old times and early day experiences. Mr. and Mrs. Olsen have the good wishes of many friends throughout the county coun-ty for many more happy years together. to-gether. Mr. and Mrs. Olsen have spent most of their lives in Dixie, he having come to St. George in 1867 at the age of 11 years, and Mrs. Olsen when only a baby came with her parents in 1861. All of their married life they have spent in Leeds with the exception of a few years at River Mill where Mr. Olsen was employed. , |
