Show Little Gallery Of Arts L Latest lest Exhibit Framing right and wrong the lal latest t ut at the Little Gallery of Arts will be shown September 19 through October 21 It will be of interest to any any- anyone one who has ever hung a pie pie- ture homemakers and decora decora- decorators tors as well as artist This exhibit was assembled by Henry Heydenryk owner of ofa ofa a framing shop in New York City and is circulated by the Western Association of Art Mu- Mu Museums Museums It consists of fifteen pairs of reproduction one fra fra- fra framed med correctly the other incorrectly and illustrates by dra dra- dra dramatic matic comparison how the ef ef- ef feet of a painting can be either destroyed or enhanced by the frame around it Each example of framing carries an explanatory label and may be more informative to homemakers than reading a volume on the subject accord accord- according ing to the New York Times Too many homemakers spend weeks searching for just the right painting ot oi print to corn com the decorating scheme of their Ii living ving room After finding it they buy a plain frame often of unfinished wood and hang their masterpiece on the wall with never a thought for whether the frame compliments the pie pie- ture or if it blends with the per per- period iod and style of the other fur fur- in the room Artists too are often at fault in frame ing their own work Many paint paint- paintings logs ings submitted for exhibit are refused not because of the painting itself but bat because of improper framing The sponsors of the exhibit and the Vernal Drug join with members of the Little Gallery in urging everyone to visit this very educational ex cx- cx hibit while it is in Vernal Gal Gal- Gallery lery hours are Sundays Tues Tues Tues- Tuesdays days and Thursdays from two to five pm |
