Show uintah pioneer s will celebrate birthday M mrs rs mary ann case altamont a former resident of jensen for 24 years and one of the first settlers ol 01 ot the ute indian reservation when it was opened in 1000 1900 will cel celebrate brate her birthday tuesday january 31 ut at the home of a son and daugh ter in law mr and mrs floyd case of mt emmons she was born in provo jan 31 1867 a daughter of mr ur and mrs henry humble who came to america as converts to the church of jesus christ of latter day saints from denmark in 1846 for a number of years during her girlhood she lived with her family in spanish fork at spanish fork on march 2 1884 she married fredrick Fredr lck aaron case later their vows were solemnized in the salt lake temple came to jensen in 1885 mr and mrs case with their infant son earl moved to jensen uintah counte where they made their home for 24 ears the couple had five sons and four daughters all of whom are living when the uintah indian reservation was opened for settlement in the early mr cise case filed on a homestead on the lake fork bench 1 in the area now known as the upper country in northern duchesne county the case family made their home here until mr cases death in december 1945 at the age of 85 mrs case has lived at the home of mr and mrs floyd case most of the timo time since the death of her husband church worker mrs case was act acthen he in the church until recent years at jensen she served as first counselor in the mutual improvement a teacher in the primary and as a relief society visiting teacher she was sustained president of the first relief society organized in mt emmons her ifer church activity included work in some of the other auxiliary organizations As doctors and nurses were not available in the early days of the settlement of mt emmons mrs case spent a great deal of time with the sick she assisted at the birth of the first white child born on the lake fork bench family living the case family consists of nine sons and daughters F earl case mt emmons mrs W G eathel neal mt home idaho mrs gardner jennie goodrich bluebell floyd case and mrs A L mary snyder mt emmons william H case duchesne joseph case ogden ross hoss case vernal and mrs leslie N elda pearson boneta there are 35 grandchildren 56 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren |
