dead and wounded are some of the most prominent men in the county the facts which led up to the terrible lynching lunching lyn ching affray aro are as follows aaron wiseman and calvin snipes were partners in an ail illicit distillery in ill mitchell Mit choll county no C and told william osborne and isaac osborne Os borno two bro brothers thors where the distillery was situated william osborne repotted potted re ro it to the officials and helped them to destroy it wiseman and snipes suspected isaac osborne as the reporter and on the night of august 27 1892 armed with Winch winchesters Win chargo charge A small party attempted to storm the jail monday night but they wore were easily beaten back b by y the sheriff and his posse osborne redoubled his efforts tuesday and by couriers succeeded in getting a mob of nearly four hundred men together near the city the sheriff knowing what was coming doubled the number of guards saw their arms were in perfect order and took every
