Show HAND CAR ACCIDENT. On Sunday last, John Anderton, his two daughters, Anna and Rose, aged respectively 10 and 7 years, Chas. Petersen and two other men were riding in a hand-car from Arimo to Pocatello. When they reached the bridge near Harkness, the hand-car jumped the track, and all its occupants fell from the trestle-work to the ground, a distance of 15 feet. Anderton's face was scratched and he received internal injuries, not, however, thought to be serious. His daughter Rose's face was skinned, and her left elbow was injured and bruised. Anna had a finder dislocated and broken. Both children were severely shaken and injured. Mr. Petersen had his head badly cut. Dispatches making out the injuries to be much worse than they were, were sent to Dr. Ormsby, who at once proceeded on a special to the patients. He left them all as comfortable as could be expected. |
