Show BOX ELDER COUNTY CONVENTION. The County Convention of Box Elder County was held on Saturday the 23rd inst., in the court house, the majority of the precincts being represented. Hon. O. G. Snow called order and nominated E. A. Box, Esq., temporary chairman carried. N. P. Andersen was chosen secretary. On motion of R. Baley, Esq., a committee of three on credentials was appointed by the chair. While the committee was absent Col. Loveland was called for, and addressed those present in a spicy speech. Referring to our political affairs at the present, he compared them with those of the past, and urged upon all the necessity of working hard to secure and maintain the rights of the people. The committee on credentials reported, and on motion of A. Goodliffe the temporary organization was made permanent. On motion of R. Baley the chair appointed a committee of three on nominations. The committee retired and in a few minutes returned and reported the names of Messrs. O. G. Snow, R. Baley and W. Lowe to represent Box Elder County in the Territorial Convention to be held in Salt Lake City, Oct. 9, 1882. On motion of A. Percy the nominations made by the committee were sustained by the convention. There was no other business and the convention adjourned. |
