Show HUNTING A NOTED HORSE THIEF. On Thursday last the good citizens of Paris, Idaho, were considerably exercised over the escape of a noted horse thief who, in order to avoid arrest, had fled, it was supposed, to the mountains. Numerous armed men, under the call of the proper officer of the law, were diligently searching the canyons and hills in the vicinity of the city. The escaped party, it was understood, was well armed and had said that he could not be taken alive. Certain preparations on the part of the citizens seemed to indicate that if the culprit preferred to be taken dead he might be accommodated. |
