Show PRESIDENT GARFIELD'S CONDITION. Without reproducing the voluminous dispatches respecting the President's condition, which have been sent over the wires since our last issue, we will merely epitomize them by saying that, with scarcely an exception they indicate as good a condition of the patient as could reasonably be expected, and that the chances for his recovery have steadily increased. His symptoms have grown more favorable steadily, and thought he is far from being out of danger; the attending surgeons express great confidence in his recovery. The ball has not yet been extracted, nor will an attempt be made to extract it until the patient becomes stronger. Discharges from the wound indicated a favorable condition internally and the surgeons are satisfied that the bullet does not rest in a vital spot. |
