Show Departure. Last Monday Messrs Harry Brown and Willie Hurst left Logan for Boston where they are intending to pursue their favorite studies in the fine art schools of that city. The ability of Mr. Brown as a sculptor and worker in marble is well known in Cache Valley and there is no doubt that he will advance rapidly under the tuition of the masters in Boston, and return quite an accomplished sculptor. The specimens of drawing and painting exhibited at our last fair, as well as those sold on the day of his departure, which were executed by Mr. Hurst sufficiently testify of the latter's ability. Both are young men possessing not only ability in their favorite pursuits, but a good moral character and reputation. The schools of Boston offer great advantages to young men desiring to study any of the fine arts and we have no doubt that they will improve the [unreadable] and make rapid advancement. Utah has produced men talented in other directions and why not produce artists of a high order! The good wishes of all who know the young men go with them and we say, Success to Logan's Angelo and Raphael! |
