Show Handsome Presents. A very handsome, eight-day calendar clock and inkstand combined, and also an elegant gold pen, were lately presented to Supt. G.E. Thatcher by "the boys" on the road, as a token of their high respect and esteem for their superintendent. The clock is a very pretty, neat, and elegant affair, designed to be placed on a desk, and just below its dial is a very fine, large, cut glass inkstand, and thus is combined that indispensable article of desk furniture with a neat time piece which shows the time, minute, and day of the month. The article adorns the superintendent's desk in his office at the depot, and as he exhibited it, and the gold pen, he remarked how highly he valued the presents, as tokens of the esteem of "the boys" on the road. From many evidences, that have come to our knowledge, we are convinced that Superintendent Thatcher possesses the heartiest good-will of the employees on the road. |
