Show THE PERFORMANCE IN PROVIDENCE HALL. According to announcement in the Leader, the Providence Dramatic Association gave a performance last Friday evening. The play, "Earnest Maltravers," was rendered in a manner which reflected great credit on the company. The farce, "Bamboozling," was immense, and caused roars of laughter. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Johnson are deserving of mention for the creditable rendition of their parts, which fully sustained their well known reputation. In fact nearly all did well in the casts assigned to them. During the interval between the plays, a recitation was given by Mrs. Pout entitled "The Manic Wife;" this was one of the last features of the entertainment. The lady possesses a fine voice, and good delivery, and displayed both to advantage in this piece. The audience generally speaking observed good order; all went on pleasantly, and the performance may be considered a success. |
