Show ABLE NOMINEES. The municipal ticket nominated by the convention Wednesday evening is a first rate one. The name of R. S. Campbell is as good a one as could have been selected for mayor. He has resided in Logan almost from his boyhood, has long been a member of the city council, is thoroughly versed in the finances, wants and interests of our city, is possessed of a deliberate, discreet temperament and a judicial mind, and has had a thorough business training, which goes far to qualify him for the position of mayor of our thriving and growing city. Of the present members of the city council only two have been re-nominated, James Quayle and C. B. Robbins. Most if not all had desired to be relieved from further service in the city government, where there is a good deal of responsibility and work, with very little money and still less glory, and eight new men have been called upon to take their turn. Some of these have, in former years, been members of the council, and others make up in natural qualifications what they lack in experience. A nomination by the People's party is equivalent to an election, and our citizens have every reason to believe that our next set of city officers will be worthy of their respect and unlimited confidence. |
