Show THEATRICAL. On Saturday evening last our home company gave another excellent performance. Mr. Bywater as the reprobate but subsequently reformed husband "Forest" played the part splendidly. Miss Haws gave a fine and effective rendition of the devoted wife and only daughter, and was very well supported by Miss McKnight. This young lady improves rapidly. Mr. J. P. Smith is becoming more valued by our play goers, and Mr. Jones plays even better than formerly. "Handy Andy" went off fully as well as on its last presentation, which is saying considerable. Speaking of the club as a whole, they are more painstaking than formerly and improve rapidly. One thing, though, greatly wears on the patience of the audience-the long waits. The curtain was down full half an hour before the first act of "Handy Andy" commenced. The public would appreciate a modification of this evil. |
