Show FUNERAL SERVICES. The ?? ?? of the 14th in?? ?? the following: ?? fur?? ?? ?? ?? the se?? of the late ?? David John Taylor, well ?? ?? at the ??? Ward Assembly ?? today, beginning at ?? ?? and concluding a few ????? pm. Therefore was enclosed at a handsome ?? ????, with ??? massive silver handles ?? a silver plate on top bearing the name of ???? and its Gate? of his ?? ?? ?? way ?? fully adorned with floral? em?? and during the services rested [unreadable lines]. ?? the house, the stand was on? so? ?? ?? President George Q. Cannon, Joseph F. Smith and Wilford Woodruff, ????. Mr. Smith and John ?? ??, Counselor D.? B.? H. Wilks?, ???ing ?? ??? ???, President A. V.? Cahoon?, Bishop ?? Taylor, officers of Z.C.M.I, and other? [unreadable words] was also present?. ?? ?? in front of the stand sat President John Taylor, a?? of the deceased, in ?? chair, surrounded by his family, the family of the departed and ?? near? relatives occupying ?? from the center to the west side of the room. The services were conducted by Bishop ?? Taylor under the direction of President George Q. Cannon. Bishop ?? Taylor made a few introductory remarks, testifying to the excellent character borne [born] by the deceased, ??, and was followed by President Joseph F. Smith in an impressive and ?? ?? discourse, lasting about half an hour. President Wilford Woodruff occupied the next 20? minutes in a similar interesting manner, and President George Q. Cannon ?? with a series of? excellent remarks on themes suitable to the occasion. The choir sang, after which Apostle John H. Smith pronounced the ?? diction. The hall was then vacated and the procession formed, under the direction of Elder L.? John N?? and ?? C. Badger in the following order. ?? containing ?? ?? and brothers of the deceased; ??, with the remains, carriage holding the widow of the deceased and roar? ?? ??, carriage of President John Taylor, followed by others with members of his family; relatives and intimate acquaintances of the bereaved household, Church authorities; officers and employers of Z.C.M.I., associates of the deceased in life, the general public. The carriage numbered between ?? and ?? vehicles; and passed up First South street on its way to the cemetery, where the mortal ?? of our departed brother was consigned to it ?? resting place. |
