Show THE COUNTY ROAD. The matter of tho county road up l'rovo ciinvno isabxirblng considerable of tho attention ot the board of county comml'fclnuuis and aso of tho general public who use thu road. There Is no question but that the road as at pic-Mont pic-Mont dlveited by (he rullrouil work Is most Inconvenient and also uiMufe. Wo havu Inspected the road and find it nt present in ii Lad condition lor nt least one nod one half miles this sldo of tho power plant. 'J he railroad company com-pany lias ngrced with tho county to ro-palr ro-palr the rond ami that it is going to put It in another place which will be equally equal-ly ns good as the road usurped by tho railroad company. In view of this fact we would like to respectfully niako a r commendation to tho county court. Wo would suggest that at a short distance dis-tance this side of tho point where llio new railroad takes possession of tho old county road, the tallroud bo required re-quired to build a brldgo across tho river, and from the point of crossing confiruct n road for tho county on tho north bank of l'rovo river to the bridge opposlto thu falls above tho power plant. This Is thu lino of tho old pioneer pio-neer road and the work In construction will not bo very jrrea, besides which It will reinovo tho county wagon road from tho railroad and prevent tho danger dan-ger of accidents which nro so liable If tlio wagon roud runs contiguous to tho railroad. Wo may also say that wo do not bclievd It posslblo that tho makeshift make-shift rond oyer tho hill, forced Into uso by tho rnllroad grade, can ever bo brought to a condition equal to tho old road taken possesion of by thu railroad, rail-road, and which tho company agruos to replace. Wo therefore bullevo that tho county commissioners should Insist on tho railroad company making somo such chuogo as wo suggest. |
