Show A Great Natural Cave. About twelve miles north of Cherry creek and near the north line of white Pine county, Nev., a magnificent cave was discovered about one year ago. As yet it is but little known and but few persons have visited it. The entrance is on the east side of the mountain, facing Steptoe valley, and is only a few hundred feet above the valley. The entrance is so small as to require crawling a short distance, but it opens into such a large and beautiful beauti-ful cave as to well repay for the labor of a visit. The first room is several hundred feet wide and so high that there has not been enough light in it to reveal the roof. So far the cave has not been explored to any great extent, and vet it has been explored for nearly one thousand feet in length while small openings around the side indicate that there are other rooms. Here and there are small pools of pure water, which drops from the roof, while the walls are gorgeous in lime crystals in shades from pure white to some very dark specimens! These crystals are similar to those found in mines, and it is doubtful if there are many places in the world where there is such a great amount of them as in this cave. 'Then long white and yellow stalactites hang from the roof, and stalagmites rise from the floor. Miss Jennie Green, who lives at the stage station near the cave, was one of the first to enter it, and she is taking a deep interest in this wonder. If a railroad ran near the cave it could be made a great attraction for tourists. As yet the walls have not been marred by searchers for cabinet specimens, and the walls of the big room are being kept intact as nature formed them, as much as possible. The entire mountain in which, it is located is one mass of limestone, Salt Lake Tribune. 3PTT 1ST J3L'& X AKIHS. I paid a visit to one of the most beautiful pleasure resorts in this vicinity and that is Funk's Lake It is situated on a hill about half to three-quarters of a mile from Sterling, Ster-ling, Sanpete Co, Utah. The Lake is about half a mile in length by about one hundred yards in width. It receives its water supply from a Canal from the .Sterling Creek. There is an abundance of Carp in the lake, but no fish of any other variety. There are nice groves of timber near the Lake. There- is also a dancing Hall, Bathing Resort, Ice Cream Parlor, &c, for the accomodation ac-comodation of the tourist who travels trav-els through those parts. On the lake there are excellent boats for rowing and a small steamer The Eagle which is beautiful to ride in. A few rods from the lake on the west, a body can stand and see most of the surrounding country. About one and a half miles up the canyon, to the east, the Sanpete Valley coal mine is located, while six miles north is situated Manti with its beautiful Temple, which is readily seen from the little town of Sterling.
