Show ; ; A' Double Birthday It so happens that our editor, Joseph TP. Carpenter, and his father-in-law, Joseph H; Randall, were both born on Saint Patrick's day, March 17, the former being 44 and the latter 74 years of age last Tuesday, the 17th inst. Mrs. Randall prepared a surprise for her husband, and invited a number of guests, but only the following were Present Prest David H. Cannon and wife,. Prest James G. Bleak and . wife, Charles W. Bennett and wife, Wilford McAllister Mc-Allister and mother, Haden W. Church and wife, Win. G. Miles and wife, Edward Christian and wife, Mrs. Agnes Thompson, Mrs. jifary G. Whitehead, and Joseph W. Carpenter and wife, who, (except Mr Carpenter), were gathered at the residence Prior to the arrival of Mr. Randall, and when he came in the guests were seated around the table, spread with an abundance of dishes awaiting the arrival of those fine delicacies that are calculated to nurish and please the inner man, ancl he wa3 so taken unawares that he 'was surprised in deed. The guests had a most enjoyable evening, even-ing, everything passing off in a pleasant manner. Singing, reciting recit-ing and talking was indulged in by all, until it was deemed late enougn to retire. We cordially wish both parties many happy returns of the day. |
