In writing this article wo do not do so to make enemies, but to try and get our customers to see as we do, and try to aid us instead of placing a block in the wheel of our prosperity and the prosperity of all. . It is not only in our business that the "pay as you go" plan should be adopted, but in all kinds of business that is in operation, for each one of us hare obligations to meet and we cannot do so to advantage when our income is in credit on our books instead of the ready cash, We hopo the credit system will be a thing of the imst at no distant dis-tant day. There is one bad feature in various va-rious kinds of business of which we wish to say a few words about, and thai is the item of trusting. We havo outstanding accounts which we have not been able to collect, that foot up to over two hundred dollars, and some of these accounts are not of long standing, either. We find in all kinds of business, that there are customers who seem to have a mania (or something else) to run in debt, whether they have any good and substantial evidence of being able to meet their obligations obliga-tions or not If customers would make it a point to not get anything that they are not able to pay for at the time of making a purchase, it would be much better for all concerned, and there would not be the trouble for the clerk to send out that instrument instru-ment that is so obnoxious to so many the monthly statement, and what many call a "dun." In our basiness of Job Printing we find it exceedingly inconvenient to give credit, and havo been urging urg-ing our customers to be prepared to pay for what they got at the time of obtaining the work, for nearly a year, in order to prevent (in some instances) our earning |
