Show FUNERAL SERVICES Ovei the remains of Isaiah Cox, Sunday, April 12, 4 p. m. Bp. Andrew Winsor presiding. Choir sang "Creation speaks with awful sound." Prayer by Saniuel Miles. Choir sang an anthem. . Charles A. Terry said it is with feelings of solemnity that he stood up to speak on this occasion. He had known brother Cox for 46 years and considered e had made a good record. Kichard Morris ' knew him for years and found him a man of great usefulness among us. He leaves 22 children and 28 grandchildren. A. W. lvins read a portion of the last chapter of St. Matthew in relation -to the resurrection of the Saviour, he being the first fruits of them that slept, and showed that the saints who are faithful would also rise from the tomb and receive the reward of the deeds done in in the body and showed how the , love of God our Father is extended extend-ed to us. Said he looked with pleasure on the family of brother Cox, as they are all, as far as he knew, honorable mombers in society, soci-ety, and are a credit to their parents. Prayed that hia family might be comforted and blessed. ' Bishop Windsor bore his testimony testi-mony to the good examples set by brother Cox. Choir sang an anthem, ''Shall I receive a welcome home?" Benediction by Prest D. D. McArthur. Mc-Arthur. Isaiah Cox was born May 18, 1839,on the Ozark Mountain, Craw- ford Co., Missouri. Came to Utah in 1848 with his parents. Was baptized in Salt Lake City, May 13, 1849. Married Henrietta James, January 1, 185G, at Union, Utah, Bishop Silas Richards officiating. offi-ciating. Came to the Dixie mission mis-sion in the fall of 1862. Was ordained or-dained a High Priest December 29, 1884, by apostle Erastus Snow. Went to Mexico in January 1889 and returned in 1891, remaining here until his death, which occured on Saturday, April 11, 189G. i |
