They met with the commissioners at Duchesne Thursday and went over the road situation. Mr.. Knowlton explained the new system adapted by the ttate road commission. It has developed that there is the fiim of $1500 available foi work west of Duchesne' and the engineers with the county commissioners went over the road Saturday and decided to use this money getting out of the sand wash about eight miles west or Duchesne. The road wilt be built on the south side of the wash. The engineers promised that the Federal aid road would be extended extend-ed from Antelope to Duchesne next year on the north side of the river. They also showed a very decided willingness to help solve the Uintah basin road problems and are very anxious that a designation be made west from Duchesne as soon as possible. pos-sible. The commissioners were pleased with the attitude taken by Mr. Browning and Mr. Knowlton as to the Duchesne county road situation and are satisfied that much needed help will ' be forthcoming soon to put through an improved highway to the Wasatch county line. Mr. Browning and Mr. Knowlton returned to Salt Lake Saturday and Mr. Simpson, district engineer for this section, returned to his headquarters head-quarters at Price. |
