Show LOCAL NOTES Ben Clark, Draper and Alfred Giles, all of Tabiona, were Duchesne visitors Monday. The Standard Bearers were delightfully de-lightfully entertained by Mrs. Fred Johnson. First prize was awarded to Mrs. Jop Cowan and the all-cut to Mrs. Roy Cook. James Sabey of Roosevelt was shaking hands with friends here during dur-ing the first of the week. Ed i.'allowa and mother will lease Mrs. Leavitt'e hotel at this place. Miss Tuna Stott has accepted a position in ihe Hotel Duchesne. Alma Wagstaff of Tabiona was a Duchesne visitor this week. Rt. Rev. Bishop Moulton and Rev. W. H. Buckley will hold services at thp Episcopal church Sunday, Nov., 14th, at 11 o'clock. A good attendance attend-ance is desired. Wm. Case spent Saturday and Sunday at Mt. Emmons with his wife. The new execuative committee of the Duchesne County Chapter of the Red Cross were in session Tuesday afternoon with the following members mem-bers present: Mesdames Lockhart, Walter Walker, Wilkins, Bjornson, Kohl and Fellar, Messrs A. N. Alt and G. C. Gray. The following officers of-ficers for the Duchesne County chapter were elected: Mrs. Lockhart Chairman, Mrs. Dickcrson Vice-chairman, Vice-chairman, . Mts. J. P. Madsen secretary secre-tary and Mrs. Johnson treasurer. The new White trucks now in the mail serviee on the route that serves us are added equipment that will give added service. Duchesne did well when one half of the race course was built in one year, next year it will no doubt be .completed. ,The Duchesne Post of the American Ameri-can Leigon are giving a big dance to night. It is expected that the affair af-fair will be a big, howling success. , .- We are anxious to' see O. C. .Lockhart elected to serve as a member mem-ber of the school board for the coming com-ing term. The election is the first of the coming month. i The road between Duchesne and Helper is said not to be in first class shape at this time, We are giving this information for those especially interested in another road. The old times tell us that we are having unusual weather. We have 'even heard some of them say that lone storm in the early fall insures open weather until about the first of the year. And then there are those that contend that only ' two class of people predict on the weather. weath-er. Any way they are all missing it and the weatherman himself does not seem to know just how he wants to handle the situation. |
