T Walker died Thursday December December Dec- Dec lember ember at the home of her daugh daughter er erIn fen In Salt Lake City at the age of 69 She had been in poor health a l long ng time land and aud was fully prepared when the cal came came Several days day before she pa passed ted away she tol told her relatives that she would I leave them Wednesday or Thursday She Shead Shead had ad previously of Bishop of-Bishop 8 shop Bill that he would gags of Duchesne the funeral s services an and on Monday she would go on Wednesday ay I would give Bishop Billings time tune to con conduct conduct conf f duct her funeral and return home for c Christmas She passed Thursday morning at about two t Dr Cowhick came to Duchesne at the of the city council during the first Hirst epidemic of influenza in 1919 When she arrived two families were suffering with the disease he her prompt and efficient measures no other cases appeared in Duchesne When th the malady malady mal mal- I ady the next winter Dr Cowhick was in C California but was was again again a- a gain sent for and valuable aid at at a critical time f r In many ways was Dr Cowhick was a re woman She was wa born in Ohio in March 1853 and was mother of five children hildren four of whom survive her When confronted with the necessity of pm-iding pm for her family up th the study of and worked her way through college while caring for her children She practised successfully for twenty five years making a special study of obstetrics She claimed to have brought into the world five thousand babies without the loss of a life While not adhering to any particular lar faith since coming to Utah she made many friends among the Latter-Day Latter Saints and expressed a desire to be laid lai ito to rest among them In accordance with her her wish Bishop Billings went to Salt lake City and conducted the funeral services services services ser ser- vices last Saturday Interment was in Mt lit Olivet cemetery 0 0 |
