Show THE WHEAT PLAN We have been asked several times lately just how the wheat adjustment plan is operated, and whether or not it is beneficial. In another place we are printing a brief explanation of the plan, which we hope will answer both questions. ques-tions. Individual circumstances alter cases many times, and it would be hard to say whether the plan is beneficial without studying individual cases. In general, though, to the farmer who has been raising wheat for the last three to five years, the plan should offer advantages. ad-vantages. The bread consumer is already paying the tax. It is collected entirely for the benefit of the' wheat producer. What harm can' there be in accepting one's share ? The small acerage reduction asked for not only entitles the signer to ' the cash benefits, it should, if largely complied with, materially improve prices on wheat next year, j If this plan succeeds t will probably prob-ably be tried on other products, j A bonus on cream would be migh-( ty welcome o the majority of the pyuroducers in the Basin, wouldn't producers in the Basin wouldn't it? j |
