Show Thomas Appoints Three Former Students And Daughter On His Staff Dr." Elbert D. Thomas Wednesday Wednes-day announced the appointment of four clerks, who will form his staff when he becomes United States senator March 4. The staff is composed of Miss Esther Thomas, the senator-elect's daughter; Stanley J. Murphy, Salt Lake; Kenneth C. Robertson, of Moab, and -Earl B." Wixcey, Salt Lake. The men are fqrmer students stu-dents of Dr. Thomas and of the University of Utah. Miss Thomas Thom-as is now attending the institution. institu-tion. . Miss Thomas, a sophomore stu-j dent has taken special courses Inj secretarial work. She is a member mem-ber of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. Mr. Robertson, son of the late C. A. Robertson, prominent Grand county democrat, was honor student stu-dent and former business manager man-ager of the University "Humbug.' He is a member of Phi Kappa Phi fraternity. . - As graduate manager of athletics athlet-ics and student body activities, Mr. Murphy has served the university uni-versity continuously since 1928. Mr. Wixcey is a member of The Tribune editorial staff. He is a first lieutenant of field artillery in the officers' reserve corps. He was a member of the "Draft-Thomas-forSenator' committee last fall. The members of the staff plan to leave f,or Washington, D. C. within two r three weeks, they said. They all plan to study during dur-ing their Washington residence. |
