Show DUCHESNE In honor of Andrew Clemmon's birthday,. his sister, Mrs. A. F. Feller, gave a splendidly arranged dinner for him, Wednesday evening. eve-ning. The arbor besides the house which is completely covered by vines was wired and lighted, and the table set there for the dinner. In addition to the guest of honor, Mr. Clemmons, Mrs. Mary Connor, Fred Ostrom, Joe Danner, Carl Milton, Carl Williams, a house guest of Mr. Milton's, and Ralph Richards, were the guests. J. P. May, former editor of the Uintah Basin Record, was calling on friends in Duchesne, Friday Mr. May is now located in Monti-cello, Monti-cello, Utah. Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Barton, who have been visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hart, left Wednesday morning for Colorado, where they expect to spend the winter. Mrs. Barton and Mrs. Hart are sisters. Miss Francis Rowlett of Salt Lake City is a guest at the home of Mrs. Homer S. Liddell. Miss Rowlett has just returned from an extended visit in Long Beach. An impromptu party which gathered at the home of Mrs. E. W. Croker Wednesday endec at the Arthur Grown residence on Blue Bench and feasted on fried chicken. Participating were, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Crocker, Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Pope, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Brown, Mr and Mrs. Joe Brown, J. R. Pope, and Mrs. Leora Anderson. I. R. Tuttle, Democratic Com mittee Chairman for Duchesne County, has lately appointed G. V. Billings as the County Secretary Secre-tary in place of George S. Bower?, lately deceased. W. E. Davis of Altonah, was a visitor at the Record office this week. He was returning from Salt Lake City with Mrs. Dora J. Ames and Les. Maxwell, also of Altonah. After an extended visit with friends and relatives in Wyoming and Vernal, Mrs. Claude Peacock and children of Ugaen, spent a aay with Mrs. Ernest Schonian in Du- chesne. They left Wednesday for Provo where they will visit with Lloyd Peacock and family before returning to their home in Ogden. Chief Wardleigh, of the Ogden City Fire Department, was a Duchesne Du-chesne visitor, August 19 to the 23. While here he was the guest of Sheriff Arzy Mitchell on a fishing fish-ing trip to Moon Lake. He also visited the local fire department and offered any aid he could in further development of the fire organization here. He was very complementary on the efforts put forth by the local boys in their advancement" on fire protection. Titus Jones made a trip to Salt Lake City Saturday. Mrs. Ed. Young, who recently underwent a very serious operation oper-ation in Salt Lake City, returned to her hame Saturday, greatly improved. im-proved. R. A. Gillis, District Engineer of the State Road Commission made an official visit to the Uintah Basin this week. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Lambert and Miss Thora Sabey of Roosevelt velt were guests of Mr. and Mrs. George C. Kohl, Sunday. |
