Show MUCH INTEREST SHOWN IN CITY ELECTION It seems that the good people of Duchesne are in a militant mood and determined hereafter to have some voice in the selection of their local officials. The apathy which usualy attends the selection select-ion of local contenders for public favor was conspicious this year by it's absence. Saturday evening the People's Party met in the Ward Hall in one of the largest primary meetings ever held in Duchesne, only to be outdone Monday evening when the Citizen's Party assembled their forces to select leaders for the coming fray. Usually the class room adjacent to the assembly hall is adequate to handle the crowd, but Saturday night the S. R. O. was out with the crowd overflowing over-flowing into the corridors; But Monday night, with all anterooms full and a crowd outside clamoring clamor-ing to get in, it was necessary to adjourn to. the main assembly hall to accomodate the enthusiastic voters. The interest shown in civic affairs af-fairs this year is very gratifying and the good people of Duchesne are to be commended in the selection sel-ection of the candidates listed below: be-low: PEOPLE'S PARTY Mayor, Paul Allen; Four-year Councilman, Ernest Wilson; Two-year Two-year Councilmen, Cliff Mickelson; J. P. Madsen, L. S. Pope; City Recorder, Elsie Johnson; Treasurer, Treasur-er, Roy A. Schonian. CITIZENS PARTY Mayor, A. M. Murdock; Four-year Four-year Councilman, Arthur Orr; Two year Councilmen Chas. Selch; R. G. Porter; Leland Hair. City Recorder, Re-corder, Hildur Johnstun. Treasurer, Treas-urer, Lotus Fisher. And remember folks on November Nov-ember 7th, let your conscience be your guide, and vote for the candidates can-didates that you think will help your town the most, and not the one you like socially. |
