Show STOCK SHOW Los Angeles, Oct. 19th, The blue blooded royalty of the animal kingdom will make headquarters at Los Angeles7 December 2 to 7, when the eighth annual Great Western Livestock Show will be held at the Los Angeles Union Stock Yards. The greatest beef cattle herds in western America will be entered in the show, competing com-peting for liberal cash prizes and glory. It will be the court of last resort re-sort for the champions of many country, state and district fairs and stock shows, climaxing the 1933 season. Despite low prices and depression, the famous breeders breed-ers of America have kept their herds intact and have continued building up still better cattle. An amazing feature of the depression period has been the continued strong demand for good quality stock. In fact, cowmen assert the only men who have been able to make money during the past three years are those who are raising high quality stock. Of outstanding importance will be the big Hereford show. Secretary Sec-retary R. J .Kinzer, of the American Amer-ican Hereford Cattle Breeders Association, As-sociation, states that at least seven sev-en states will send their champion champ-ion Hereford herds to Loa Angeles for the big show. There will also be several herds of Aberdeen-Angus Aberdeen-Angus and Shorthorn cattle. Boys and Girls from California and other western states will participate par-ticipate in the Junior division of the show, with special cash prizes for their fat baby beeves, pigs and lambs. Judges of international reputation reputat-ion will be called upon to pick the prize winners and the champion beef animals will be designated Pacific Coast champions. In addition add-ition to the breeding herds, there will be exhibits of prime beeves, lambs and pigs, which will be sold at public auction for the Southern California Christmas trade. Several Sev-eral carloads of highly bred range bull3 also will be offered to western west-ern catle breeders. Euy Now |
